Study Background
The County of Sonoma Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) initiated the Penngrove Traffic Study (Study) as part of efforts to identify potential improvements that address traffic congestion, mobility, safety, and regional growth. DTPW is committed to finding solutions that respond to community concerns about traffic and safety on roadways within Penngrove. The Study will provide a comprehensive examination of specific roadway network locations and the effects of potential scenarios involving intersection improvements, congestion relief and traffic calming treatments.
The Study will identify goals and objectives to help study potential transportation improvements and recommend physical improvement projects for further consideration. Community engagement is key to this process so that community members and stakeholders have an opportunity to share concerns, be informed and provide comment to identified improvements, recommendations, and the overall development of the Study.

Why are we here?
DTPW initiated the Study to address traffic and safety concerns from community members, and achieve countywide goals. Community input is needed to help identify specific issues and concerns in the study area, consider potential improvements, and inform recommendations.
Why the Study?
The Study is a key step towards identifying improvements. It will evaluate the effects of potential intersection improvements, congestion relief, and traffic calming elements so that gaps, barriers, issues, challenges, and constraints can be identified and addressed. Existing conditions, proposed improvements, and potential scenarios from planned or programmed projects will be evaluated. A summary of potential impacts will be developed highlighting key challenges and constraints.
